Lydia Kim
Ministry Specialist for Women’s Leadership Development

I am a 1.5 generation Korean-American. My background is in clinical psychology and higher education. I worked as a therapist for a few years prior to working as a residence life professional in college settings. I lived all over the country including New York City and Santa Barbara. I currently live in Louisville with my husband, two daughters and a dog. My professional passion is driven by my desire to create a better world for my two daughters where they will face less racism, sexism and other types of injustice. When I am not working or chasing after my kids, I enjoy movie nights with my husband, cooking, sewing projects and hosting dinner parties.

Originally from a central Michigan, I first became connected to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) while studying at a women’s college in Pittsburgh.  Despite having a degree in graphic design and media arts, I have always worked in relational ministry.  In addition to my work with NNPCW, I also serve as the director of youth ministries for Shadyside Presbyterian Church.  When I am not working, I love taking part in activist opportunities centered on women and girls’ empowerment, poverty eradication, and promoting fair trade.  I also love to dance, bake, watch movies and travel.
