Accessibility for all
I applaud the article about technology and ministry (“High tech, high touch,” July/August), but it fails to take into account people who cannot read large or small screens. I am one of those people. No matter how large you make the print, I cannot read it. I’m glad the technology exists, but I think the author is right to suggest that we need to think church by church about how to use it. We are an aging population, and if we are to be inclusive, we must provide for those who choose not to “tweet” or “friend” and for those unable to see, hear or praise God with their iPods. We don’t all have Blackberries or iPhones. Who do we leave behind in big-screen worship or meetings? Accessibility for all must be addressed with vigor! God forbid that the rapid pace of technological innovation should outpace any of God’s people.
