Stewardship

Dave Crittenden, Director

David Crittenden

Greetings colleagues in mission and ministry:

We are called to be good caretakers of the world God has entrusted to us, and to seek to do for others as Jesus would do. The Stewardship Ministry area seeks to help Presbyterians develop faithful stewardship practices that flow from attitudes of abundance and generosity by providing educational resources and services.

Funding Christ's Mission

Funding Christ’s Mission gives direction to the work of the General Assembly Mission Council as we seek to be financially faithful in the 21st Century. It is the report of the Mission Funding Task Force to approved by the 218th General Assembly in 2008.

  • Marty, The newest Giving Magazine: Abundant Joy: Overflowing Generosity is now available through the Church Store, item #1912012312. It is free but you will be asked to pay for shipping. This is the newest theme for annual campaigns. Theme materials are previewed in the center section of the magazine and are available from the Ecumenical Stewardship Center at www.stewardshipresources.org along with past themes and materials. by Dave Crittenden on 03/15/2012 at 2:17 p.m.

  • It's my understanding that we can get a copy of the Giving magazine free from you. Is that correct? Do we have to request it? I am with First Pres in Georgetown, Texas, and someone said that last year we got a free copy. We have ordered a copy from Stewardship Resources but would also like a second copy. by Marty Curtis on 03/15/2012 at 11:18 a.m.

  • LaJaun, The 2012 Giving Magazine went to the printer late and should be available very soon. I will post here when it is available from the church store. We plan to have copies available at Stewardship Kaleidoscope in Charlotte. Also if anyone interested would like to email me my office can provide you with one or several copies as soon as they are available. Thank you for the inquiry! by David Crittenden on 02/21/2012 at 4:00 p.m.

  • Greetings, Where can I find the 2012 Giving Magazine? I only see the 2011 online. I have seen the magazine on another site, but in the past we have been able to receive this magazine at no cost. Has this changed? by LaJuan Quander on 02/21/2012 at 7:10 a.m.

  • Byron I appologize for not responding to your concerns much earlier. I hope the Giving Magazine was helpful in providing a theme and related materials for your stewardship program. I beleive we have added several things to our website since your post which are intended to be helpful and I hope are responsive to your concerns. I encourage you to download the Stewardship Manual, found on the Stewardship Education page for a guide to year round stewardship and a review of the types of annual campaigns. There is also a stewardship bibliography with books and websites centered on stewardship in general and faith and money in particular. We have a monthy electronic newsletter now, Stewardship Ministry, which is a place to share resources and best practices. I encourage you and your wife's team to sign up. Finally, please let us know what we are missing and what would be helpful to you and your congregation. by David Crittenden on 12/09/2011 at 11:02 a.m.
