2011 Pentecost Offering

Pentecost Offering logoThe Pentecost Offering is traditionally received on the day of Pentecost (June 12, 2011). It provides a direct way to meet the needs of children at risk, youth, and young adults. Congregations are encouraged to keep 40 percent of the Offering to support ministry with children at risk in their communities.

The General Assembly’s portion (60 percent) provides leadership development opportunities for Presbyterian youth and young adults and supports children-at-risk programs at the national level. Since 1998, Presbyterians of all ages have raised more than $8 million for these ministries that benefit younger members of God’s family.

Bulletin inserts

Each of the stories in the four bulletin inserts can be used or adapted for presentation the same Sunday that the insert is in the bulletin.

  • Thanks for letting us know there was a broken link on one of the Pentecost Offering podcasts (Helping Children Overcome Injustice). I have alerted our web/IT folks and it should be fixed soon. by Teresa Mader PC(USA) Staff on 04/27/2011 at 5:57 p.m.

  • The Peacemaking Offering is not the same as the Witness Offering. The Witness Offering, which supported mission workers, is no longer in existance. The Peacemaking Offering promotes peacemaking efforts of the denomination, synods, presbyteries, and congregations. Congretations keep 25 percent of what they receive for local peacemaking efforts. by Margaret Boone on 11/09/2010 at 10:53 a.m.
