The theme of the 2012 Gathering is “River of Hope,” based on Psalm 46:4–5. Registration is open; register online or by mail, using the form from the registration booklet.

Registration tips

• You will need to submit one registration for each participant.
• Workshops and forums are for registered participants only. For information about the Gathering, email Patricia Longfellow or call (800) 728-7228, x8015. For questions about registration, email Jan Hunter-Uhl or call (502) 905-5283.
• If you are registering online, you may find it helpful to have a print or download version of the registration booklet, which offers full descriptions of registration packages, workshops, forums, tours, housing, transportation and much more. In online registration, you may click on italicized type for more information.   
• If you are flying to Orlando, reserve and pay for your airport shuttle during registration even if travel arrangements are not finalized. Shuttle pick-ups will run until 6 p.m. daily, rather than 4 p.m. as previously advertised.
• Hotel reservations will be made separately; reserve online. (A link to online housing reservations is also at the end of online Gathering registration.)
• Arrangements for visiting local attractions are also separate from Gathering registration; make plans through Expedia’s Local Expert Destination Services.

Mission action by auction

A silent auction will be held at the 2012 Churchwide Gathering. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the PW Mission Pledge, Birthday Offering or Thank Offering. Even if you're not attending the Gathering you (or your PW group) can donate new items to be auctioned during the event.

Wear your excitement for the Gathering

Beautiful, fair trade, high-quality t-shirts featuring the Gathering logo are now available. And the shirts not only show your enthusiasm to share in the “River of Hope,” the shirts also represent hope. For generations, hope was in short supply for the women and girls of Sonagacchi, the oldest and largest of Calcutta’s red light districts. But a company named Freeset—a bag and t-shirt manufacturing company—has taught women and girls sewing skills that transform their lives from exploitation and pain to freedom and promise. With the theme “River of Hope” in mind, the women of Freeset have dyed, sewn and signed the River of Hope Gathering t-shirts.

The shirts are available in misses’, women’s and plus cuts. The misses cut runs slightly smaller and closer to the body than the women’s cut. It has a scoop neck and cap sleeves. The women’s cut is slightly looser in the chest and waist, and has a scoop neck and regular sleeves. The plus cut is longer and straighter than the misses’ or women’s cut and has a scoop neck and standard sleeves. All styles are in a lovely berry hue, with the Gathering logo on top and the signatures of the makers in white (in Bangla) on the bottom. The cost is $15.
