PW Global Exchange
Every three years, a group of Presbyterian Women travels to another part of the world to listen to the pain and the joy that their sisters experience and to share their faith stories and ministries with each other. It is a global exchange because, the following year, a group of women from the same part of the world are invited to attend the Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women to tell their stories to their North American sisters.

2011 Global Exchange to India
Greatly honored are those who hunger and thirst for justice.
The 2011 Global Exchange took 23 U.S. Presbyterian women and 4 PW and PC(USA) staff to India in October 2011. Indian women will complete the “exchange” part of the trip by attending the 2012 PW Gathering in Orlando, Florida, July 18–22, 2012. Before leaving for India, U.S. participants committed to “celebrating faithfulness, listening and learning how human trafficking and environmental issues are impacting women and children in Asia, and living God’s call to justice and action.”
The group was hosted by the Church of North India (CNI) Women’s Fellowship for Christian Service (WFCS) in Delhi, Agra, Kolkata and Durgapur and by the Presbyterian Women’s Fellowship, Presbyterian Church of India (PCI) in Shillong. Both churches are longtime partners with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). After visiting schools, vocational training programs, churches and villages, new relationships and understanding had blossomed between U.S. and Indian women. Learn more about the trip and how you can invite a participant to your next event to share her stories.

Concept Behind the Global Exchange Logo
The Presbyterian Women Global Exchange logo suggests

- The compass rose
- Movement from the inside to the outside, outside to inside
- Colors of the earth, from desert to rainforest
- A stamp in a passport
- Not sitting comfortably, balanced on one spot

Yes, the application deadline has passed for the 2011 Global Exchange. We appreciate your interest in helping promote it. As you know, every three years, a group of Presbyterian women travels to another part of the world to hear the joys and pain that our sisters there experience, and to share faith stories and ministries with one another. The following year, a group of women from the same part of the world is invited to itinerate in synods and participate in the Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women, to share their stories. The exchange is designed for women who are open, sensitive and adaptable to other cultures, work well with people of differing views, are able to handle rigorous schedules, willing to share the experience with others and are willing to raise funds for participation. The deadline for participant applications is on or before June 1 of the year before each Global Exchange. PW is engaged in reviewing and selecting participants at this time. You can look forward to meeting the 2011 participants, both PW and Global Exchange partners, at the 2012 Churchwide Gathering in Orlando, July 18–22. PW will begin promoting the 2014 trip in 2012. Watch for information in Horizons magazine, on the PW mission web pages and in the quarterly newsletter to PW leaders. In the meantime, watch for a participants listing in a yet-to-be-determined issue of Horizons magazine (late 2011/early 2012), and plan to invite one or more of the participants to your synod in 2012. To learn more, call the PW associate for mission at 502/569-5402. To subscribe to Horizons, call 866/802-3635.

Guessing that deadline for appying is past. (NO, I'm not interested in applying) New website has less information than old. Process for taking part needs to be transparent on website. Would love more information to make promoting at PWP level easier.
