Grace Presbyterian Church in Weatherford, Texas, sponsored a volunteer work team mission trip to the gulf coast. Hubert, Judy, Dave, David, Dave and Janet had an enjoyable and inspiring experience doing the final work on Barbara’s home.

Dave shared with his congregation, “This is the first time we have had the experience of completing the work on a house and turning it over to the homeowner. It was heartwarming to say to Barbara, here is your house completely finished. We were the 9th group to work on her house over many months while she lived in it (sometimes like camping out!) We really had the feeling that we weren't just rebuilding her home, but we were helping rebuild her life.

Barbara was really feeling the Grace of God when she came to dinner with us at the volunteer Village on Thursday night (when all the homeowners and family and friends are invited and share their experiences with the hurricanes and the rebuilding of their homes.) Barbara came to tears of gratitude and joy when we presented her with a beautiful prayer shawl made by Linda. Thanks to Linda and VA and the others who made sure we received the shawl on time.

We also enjoyed meeting the other volunteers from Colorado Springs and Manassas, Virginia. We also had a delicious meal Wednesday night on the Seawall in Galveston.

We feel very blessed for having served as the hands and feet of our Lord, and I hope many more of you will be able to share in the blessing in the future.

Your mission leader,
Dave Douglass
