My name is Thomas Guthrie and I am originally from Tallahassee, Florida. I graduated from Florida State University with a degree in Hospitality Administration through the College of Business. After college I worked as a front office manager at a resort for six months. I loved my job but at the end of my training I knew that I wanted to try something new. I grew up attending First Presbyterian Church Tallahassee. I worked for that church for two years as the Christian Education Assistant with my main focus on the high school youth group. Working in the ministry has always been a passion and I wanted to take a year and be intentional about discerning what comes next. I will be working part time with Central Presbyterian Outreach and Advocacy Center (OAC), and part time with DOOR Atlanta, helping with high school mission trips. In my free time I enjoy mountain biking, frisbee, running, guitar, and golf.
The Young Adult Volunteer program is a year-long service program for young adults between ages 19 and 30. Read more about the YAV program here
