My name is Callie and I am a recent graduate of Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California where I received a degree in Psychology. My call to the YAV program started four years ago after hearing about the program through Westminster Woods in Occidental, California where I was working. I knew that I wanted to do something intentional after I graduated college and the YAV program seemed like a fantastic opportunity to both use my skills and passions, but also gain important knowledge about cross-cultural communication.

I have decided to spend this next year in Miami, Florida where I will be teaching at a Christian Charter School in the "Little Haiti" district. I am still waiting to hear what grade and subject I will be teaching, but I am very excited for the adventure.

The Young Adult Volunteer program is a year-long service program for young adults between ages 19 and 30. Read more about the YAV program here
