El Seminario de Desarrollo Pastoral para este año tendrá lugar en ciudad Guatemala, Guatemala-Centro América, Julio 13-18, 2011. El tema de este año será “Un pueblo con mentalidad teológica” Serán días de enriquecimiento espiritual, crecimiento teológico, compañerismo, unidad familiar, turismo y descanso del trabajo congregacional. Este evento es exclusivamente para personas del liderato ministerial Hispano/Latino Presbiteriano en los Estados Unidos y Puerto Rico.

On October 5-7, 2010, the annual meeting of the National Coordinators, Executives or Directors in charge of the Hispanic/Latino ministries in different denominations across the country was held in the Episcopal Cathedral in Los Angeles, California, Participants included the Rev. Persida Rivera and the Rev. Lisa de Paz from the United Church of Christ; the Rev. Marissa Galvan and the Rev. Hector Rodriguez from the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), the Rev. Anthony Guillen from the Episcopal Church; the Rev. Ruben Deoleo from the Brethren Church; the Rev. Alfredo Barreda from the Wesleyan Church; the Rev. Juan Wesley Cordova from the Free Methodist Church; the Rev. Salvador Orellana from the American Baptist Convention; the Rev. Javier Torres from the Christian Reformed Church; and the Rev. Ruben Duran and the Rev. Hamleth Terrones from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

In reflecting on what I consider to be the most important event of the decade for the Presbyterian Hispanic/Latino-a constituency in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), I have chosen to share my experience in the role of engaged participant.
