The Presbyterian Church of Peru in recent years has initiated a frontier mission effort to extend the Gospel to the Aguaruna, an unreached people group who dwell mostly in northern Peru above Moyobamba. Support from Presbyterian churches in the United States has helped with Bible translation, financial aid for various mission efforts and the training of new Aguaruna Christian leaders.

Following nearly a decade of mission service in Guatemala, Harry and Debbie Horne are currently appointed as missionaries to a branch of the Universidad Biblica Latinoamericana (UBL) in Lima, Peru. Harry teaches Bible and biblical language courses. In describing the students at UBL, Harry writes, "They have a deep concern for the largely poor communities in which they serve. They share a hunger for a space where followers of Jesus Christ can have theological dialogue that is open to these concerns and seeks answers in the Bible. I am grateful to be allowed to participate."
