AIDS Crisis Overseas

Gifts support church and community-based programs that address poverty, behavior and other root causes of AIDS transmission. Programs include skills training, education, income-generating activities and Biblically based behavior formation and change. A particular focus is women and families.

CPC Congo Communication Project

The Congo Communication Project seeks to improve communication both within the Congo Presbyterian Church (CPC) as well as with its partners around the world by the development of an Internet Cafe located at the Protestant Press in Kananga (IMPROKA), a computer laboratory at the Presbyterian University of Congo (UPRECO), and an internet link for the CPC General Secretariat in Kananga.

Central Africa Regional Liaison

Funds will be used for operating, travel and administrative expenses for the work of the PC(USA) liaison working in the Central Africa region (Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea and Gabon). The liaison helps implement agreed-upon programs with partner churches and institutions while supporting PC(USA) congregations and presbyteries in direct mission involvement with partners. The liaisons also give practical, pastoral and culture/language transition support to other PC(USA) mission personnel serving in the region. Particular focus is on Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo and Equatorial Guinea.

Christian Education, Presbyterian Community of Congo (CPC)

The Christian Education Department of the CPC is tasked with developing training materials for laity and clergy and for implementing various training opportunities across the church. Regular visits to the churches are one of the tasks of the department, which seeks to serve a church membership of 2 million Christians. This fund provides critical support for the ministries of this department.

Christian Educator & Evangelist, Congo

The Christian Educator and Evangelist works with the Presbyterian Community of Congo (CPC) as part of the Christian Education and Evangelism Departments. The mission worker accompanies colleagues from the CPC in the visioning, planning, and implementation of the various Christian education and evangelism programs of the Presbyterian Community of the Congo. Kristi and Bob Rice are currently filling this position.
